SUKHA RETREATS
Sukha, in Sanskrit, commonly translated as 'happiness', is literally the favourable (su) space (kha) . When our inner space is large and comfortable, we are happy. Conversely, unfavourable, compressed inner space (duh-kha) makes us unhappy.
WHY ARE SUKHA RETREATS UNIQUE ?
Goethe said that happiness cannot be thought of, that it is built in daily life and that all of us are the craftman of our own happiness.
The process of getting to that “happy place” is a universal quest and yet it can somewhat be daunting.
We all seek it, sometimes for a lifetime. We look for it through our relationships, our careers, our successes, we think it will happen tomorrow or in a few years.... and yet everyone's happiness is right there, at every moment of our life, deep inside of us.
At Sukha Retreats we believe happiness is accessible to all. We just need to learn how to catch it. This is why we create these temporal spaces, these immersive journeys in a grandiose nature where the body and the mind are freed, allowing us to reconnect with the essential and bring it back into our daily lives.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
What makes us unique unique is that every single element of the journey comes from a personal experience and a personal connection. Starting with the environment where it takes place: the Swiss Alps. Sukha's founder is Swiss and mountains, lakes, forests and fresh air are part of her DNA. Every place in which a retreat takes place has been personally experienced and chosen for it's exceptional situation, where nature is playing a key role in the art of catching happiness.
Also, every teacher participating to a Sukha retreat has been personally experienced and valued as a student, by the founder. In most of the cases this connection has been through live experiences, yet sometimes through online classes or books where the teaching values and fundamentals were transmitted. All of these contributors had a direct impact on the founder's life and resonate with Sukha Retreats' values of genuine expertise and authentic kindness .
CLIMB THE MOUNTAINS AND GET THEIR GOOD TIDINGS. NATURE'S PEACE WILL FLOW INTO YOU AS SUNSHINE FLOWS INTO TREES. THE WINDS WILL BLOW THEIR OWN FRESHNESS INTO YOU, AND THE STORMS THEIR ENERGY, WHILE CARES WILL DROP AWAY FROM YOU LIKE THE LEAVES OF AUTUMN.
